Why Driving Age In Bahrain Should Be Lowered To 16

In many countries people are allowed to legally drive by the age of 16, but that is different in Bahrain since you have to be 18 or older to be able to get your driver’s license. The driving age should be lowered to 16. This change would be a solution to many problems that we face daily. Parents would not be late to work because they wouldn’t have to drop their teenage children to school. And most teenagers have experienced driving before the age of 18 in Bahrain which shows that they are capable to drive at a young age. People might say that teenagers driving would cause more accidents and traffic problems, but studies proved them wrong.

Parents are late to work because they have to drop their kids to school. They get a cut out of their salary every month because of their tardiness. Hiring drivers would be a waste of money if teenagers could drive themselves to school every day, this would not only be a solution for parents being late, but also it would be very helpful for them, as their kids now can have their own ride when they need to go out with their friends, and instead of the parents going shopping they could send their teenagers and get help from them. If the driving age is 16, many problems would have been solved. In the United States you can get your driver license at the age of 16, and at the age of 16 they haven’t graduated from school yet which helps them increase their driving abilities before graduating.

Most teenagers in our country have experienced driving before the age of 18. In fact, some teenagers at the age of 16 start to drive professionally. This shows that they are capable to be driving legally. Teenagers enjoy driving as much as they enjoy it while they drive in video games, of course it is not the same. Driving in reality gives them joy as most of them already drive in the neighborhood with their older siblings or friends. “Driving is like a privilege to teens, so why not give them a privilege and a responsibility together that can be taken away just by taking the wrong turn.”

Some people say that if teenagers would drive legally accidents will occur more often and it would cause chaos in the country.” Well reaction time is a key thing in driving. And studies have shown that the younger you are the faster your reaction time is, which will decrease the amount of accidents that happen”. Older people are more at risk in getting in accidents than younger people because in spite of how weak or tired they are except they drive themselves to their destination and cause traffic problems while driving, and not caring about other.

In conclusion, it would be a good idea if the driving age was lowered to 16 and it would help many families in many ways. Teenagers will have the freedom to drive themselves to school and hang out with their friends not worrying about them needing a ride, but worrying about their parent’s decision.
