Reflection On Career Assessment On Focus 2
After taking the career assessments on FOCUS 2, the results showed that I am an artistic and realistic person. I answered questions about my likes, dislikes, skills, and personality to get the concluding results.
According to the outcome, artistic individuals are known to have the characteristics of creativity, impulsion, independence, and intuition. They are often skilled in a lot of activities, including but not limited to sketching, drawing, painting, poetry, music, and theatre. Musician, actor/actress, painter, model, and cartoonist are just a few possible career choices for people in this category; there is a broad variety of occupations. Realistic individuals often tend to be honest, reliable, persistent, thrifty, adventurous, and practical. They are usually talented in problem solving with tools and machines, handling emergencies, physical coordination, and repairing things.
Some career possibilities for the realistic category are electrical engineering, conservation scientist, marine biologist, border patrol agent, and construction worker. There are a lot more career possibilities for the people in this classification. At the conclusion of my assessments, I was identified as more of an artistic person than a realistic person. I believe that I am an artistic person, because I am a creative person. I allow my imagination to flow freely, and I am full of originality and ingenuity. Poetry, as listed in the skilled activities, is actually something that I am proficient and gifted at doing. I have won awards at poetry slams throughout my middle school and high school years. Writing poems is a way for me to express my uniqueness; it is a way for me to convey my inner thoughts and feelings on paper. I would not really consider myself as a realistic person due to the skills and career choices listed. I, for one, am not good at problem solving with machines or tools; I do not know the least bit about any of that material. I do not agree on the career choices listed at all, because those are not things I am interested in or desire to do at all.
In the future, I don't actually plan to use the results, because I have already decided on what I want to be. I aspire to be an anesthesiologist; I refuse to let a simple test change my mind. I will go with the inclinations of my heart and accomplish all my dreams. A man-made test should not change anyone’s hopes and aspirations, and it certainly can’t change mine.
